New Home for atal UK’s Growing Structural Waterproofing BusinessPosted on
After months of preparation, we’ve now moved into our new unit in Tredegar.
Our £400,000 expansion has meant a move from our old 2,100 sq ft unit at Crown Business Park to a new 12,222 sq ft unit at nearby Tafarnaubach Industrial Estate.
We’ve also created 12 new jobs – great news for the local economy in the South Wales Valleys which has been so badly hit over the past 30 years by the loss of the steel and coal industry.
Our Managing Director David Rees, who established the company in 2012, said: “We’re delighted to be staying in Tredegar, bringing much-needed jobs and business to Blaenau Gwent.
“We’ve grown our business to work on projects across England and Wales and to achieve a turnover of £2.6 million last year.
“Our new base gives us the room we need to grow even more and develop our company.
“I’m also a strong supporter of local young entrepreneurs, so we will devote some of the space in Atal UK’s new unit to create an incubator for start-up businesses in the area.
“We will provide free desk space to local young entrepreneurs who are just starting out on their business journeys.
“It’s vital they get a helping hand as they establish their businesses.”
With a total of 21 workers, Atal UK’s expansion has been made possible because of the growing demand for our high quality structural waterproofing and ground gas protection.
We’ve worked on some of the UK’s biggest construction projects including:
- The Midlands Metropolitan Hospital, Birmingham
- The World Business Centre, Heathrow
- Ealing Hospital, London
- The redevelopment of Birmingham city centre, Project Peach
Our success has been built on our commitment to quality and training
Atal UK’s staff are highly skilled, allowing us to design, supply, and install high quality systems which prevent the penetration of water and ground gases into below-ground structures.
Our talented CAD designers and technicians are all up to date on the latest British standards, providing valuable support to architects, contractors, and engineers.
Our technicians also carry out on-site training whenever our products are used on projects.
Mr Rees delivers training sessions for continuous professional development (CPD) to architects, engineers, contractors, and industry bodies.
We supply customers across England and Wales. Our experience of dealing with ground gas issues has been invaluable for projects in the South West of England where geological conditions mean ground gases can be a major problem.
Past projects have included work at the Gainsborough Hotel, Bath, the Ponsmere Hotel, Perranporth, Bridgewater Perfomance Centre, and Combes Head Academy, Newton Abbot.
We have also carried out sensitive works in heritage buildings like the ‘Commons’ building renovation at Bath Spa University, where the contractors were working to strict guidelines set down by Natural England and English Heritage.
