More about us, at atal, we offer expert knowledge on structural waterproofing, gas protection and green roof solutions, working closely with all parties to ensure the system is best suited for the specific project, complying with guidelines set by respected industry bodies. atal works with partners that strive to deliver innovative and value driven solutions, aiming to create mutual value for all. Working closely with and promoting manufacturers with good values and a similar outlook, ensure that we are able to research and develop new technologies.

Our work is of a high standard and complies with the NHBC Chapter 5.4 and Premier Chapter 6.

In the uk, construction projects are judged on completion time, cost and quality of workmanship, therefore it’s essential to avoid costly or time consuming mistakes. When considering products within the atal portfolio, we focus on the ease and simplicity of application in addition to performance.

atal maintains low overheads, enabling materials to be supplied at competitive prices. All materials come with a high level of service to ensure installations are of a high quality, eliminating the biggest risk of a poor installation.

Sales ethic

atal offers a refreshing change to corporate sales techniques. Whilst offering quality, proven technologies from independent  manufacturers and suppliers with no or little sales force, cost effective, ethical partnerships have been formed.

atal has had the opportunity to supply its structural waterproofing products to companies all over Wales,Herefordshire,  Gloucestershire, Avon, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire, the Home Counties, London and the West Midlands. Together with Atal Contracting, we have supplied our waterproofing systems to projects of all sizes, including schools, hotels and industrial sites.

Some examples of  current and past clients include  construction companies such as Midas, Bouygues, ISG , BAM, Carillion, Skanska, Galliford Try. House builders who use our services include Taylor Wimpey, Bloor Homes, Linden Homes, Barrett Homes to name a few.  We specify waterproofing and ground gas solutions for architectural and engineering practises across the UK.

Key Personnel

David Rees

Managing Director

The founder and manager of the company. With 20 years of experience in structural waterproofing, David is an expert in the role he assumes within the company. Liaising with architects and contractors to ensure our clients receive professional, high quality and bespoke designs which are specific to the requirements of our clients. Ian Price

Technical Manager

Ian has worked for atal since November 2013. He is an expert with CAD, is qualified in waterproofing design and his knowledge on BS8102, BS8485, NHBC, LABC, Premier and other industry standards is second to none.

He is currently studying for a B Eng. in Civil Engineering. Alongside working in the real world, he has toured the UK and Europe in various rock bands.  His hobbies include playing drums, poker, chess and watching football.  He is currently studying Civil Engineering at the University of South Wales.

Dominic Thew

Buyer

Dominic joined the company in 2014 doing various roles in sales and warehouse, he is now working as the Company Buyer for both Atal Cyf and Atal Contracting.

Dom has a BSc Hons Degree in Sound Technology, and has over 10 years’ worth of Sales and Management experience in various industries.

Tyrion Edwards

Office Manager

Having worked 18 years previously for the same company, Tyrion managed the day to day running of a busy office ensuring customer satisfaction and getting the best out of all staff.  Since working in atal, within the account department and being the Office Manager, both roles has allowed her to develop her own personal skills and skills within Human Resources.

Cara Ridings

Marketing

Cara qualified in Art & Design in the University of Glamorgan in 2013, so has a good eye for detail, this plays a crucial part of her role within the marketing department. She previously worked in sales and then moved on as a Recruitment Consultant before joining atal in 2015.

Cara firstly started working in the Sales Department at atal, contacting architects and contractors for potential future projects, she then quickly moved into the Technical Department as a Technical Assistant where her role was to produce details using the CAD software. She now takes control of the Marketing side of the business, promoting atal in all ways including all aspects of social media.

Alex Morgan

Technical Assistant

Alex studied Business Economics in the University of Glamorgan and finished in 2015. He worked in various job roles before coming aboard the team atal, all roles vary from working in the construction industry to sales, so his experience plays an important part in what he does here at atal.

Alex started with Atal in May 2016 and worked as warehouse assistant, then shortly moved into the sales department. Now, Alex has opted for a change of career into our Technical Department where he is now the new Technical Assistant.

Darren Tully

Sales

Darren has worked in a variety of industries in the London, Oxford and South Wales areas, including The Met Police, Gumtree UK and EADS Defence and Security. Most of his experience is in Administration, vetting, customer services and sales. He is now a member of our sales team. He is also a massive football fan and supporter of Arsenal!

Curtis Mitchell BSc

Technical Advisor

Curtis completed his BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in 2016 while working as a trainee quantity surveyor for a contractor in Port Talbot. He is now one of the technical team, focusing on the contracting side of the business, producing installation quotes and details.

Emma Probert

Sales Assistant

Emma works in the sales team at atal. This is her first full time job, after leaving university. Emma graduated from the University of Kent in July 2016 with a degree in History.

Richard Slocombe

Area Sales Manager

Richard started working in the construction industry over 20 years ago. He first started working on site, and then moved on to various suppliers of specialist products, mainly in the civils industry. Richard is now our Area Sales Manager, and is responsible for sales and increasing business opportunities in different areas of the country. With his excellent experience in this field Richard is an important part of our team.

Lucy Newman

Financial Controller

Lucy is the Financial Controller at Atal. Prior to this she worked at Chepstow Racecourse as the Racecourse Accountant. Lucy is very passionate about assisting valleys based business in their growth and success as this is where she lives and has her own family. With her knowledge and experience she hopes to be able to help Atal continue to grow and prosper in the years to come.

Office Junior

Meg has recently joined the atal team as an Office Junior. She is currently studying for her Business Level 3, and gaining experience at atal along the way.

Meg undertakes a number of general office administration and account duties. She also works closely with other departments to help maintain a smooth and efficient office.
